SUMMARY
A rare, late production, Daimler Coupé with an interesting civic history and Mayoral duties in London.
DESCRIPTION
- This lovely example dates from 05/01/1976 and has a particularly interesting pedigree
- It was previously owned by Sir Anthony Jolliffe, who was the Sheriff of London in 1980 and the Mayor of London in 1982
- Subject to a three-year, glass out, bare metal, new panel restoration in 1988
- It was refinished in its original Signal Red and fully retrimmed in tan leather
- The engine was completely dismantled, the crank reground, new pistons fitted and the gearbox stripped and rebuilt
- New suspension, steering, brakes, radiator, exhaust and road wheels were fitted together with both front and rear screens and seals
- It is as immaculate today as it was when it reappeared after its three-year restoration programme and drives beautifully
- Less than 70 of these elegant pillarless coupés are left in the UK with very few in this remarkable condition
